Your senior year of college comes (hopefully) just once in a lifetime. As the Class of 2016 readies for the rapidly approaching day of graduation, there is undoubtedly much going on in their lives during this crazy time. Many are beginning to respond to job offers, others are hearing back from grad school – and that’s just a small part of the craziness for the senior class. Despite the busyness of the last few weeks of the year, we can guarantee that this year’s Senior Gala is not something you want to miss, and here’s why:
-
FOR THE FOOD

Let’s be real, the food is probably the key selling point for most college students for any event. Get your fill of fancy sliced fruits, cheeses, and crudites – plus you get to learn what crudites are! And of course, dessert foods will be in abundance!
-
Fine art

Here’s an opportunity to dress well, and embrace your inner art critic. Being hosted at the Johnson Museum, there will be plenty for you to gawk at, and offer your best critique on. Check out the Thai exhibits, WPA Murals from Roosevelt Island, and of course the Johnson’s trademark Cosmos exhibit!
-
Live Jazz Music

Nothing says classy and sophisticated like live jazz music. Paul Merrill (Gussman Director of Jazz Ensembles) and his jazz quartet will be playing this Saturday, in a performance that you absolutely don’t want to miss.
-
There Will Be 3 DJs!

Maybe jazz isn’t your style? Well thankfully for you, there won’t be just one DJ there, not two, but three rockin’ DJs. Check out DJ Benz (Ben St. Marc) and Food and Friends (Ed Jaffe, and Fouad Chouairi) this Saturday!
-
The Dancing!

Because they know that one dance floor wouldn’t be enough to contain all the hype on the night of the Senior Gala, they’re bringing in a second dance floor to give everyone the chance to show off the crazy cool dance moves they’ve been practicing for the past four years.
-
For the Memories

Second semester of senior year is all about making memories, and what better way to do that than enjoying the night that the Cornell Senior Days planning board has organized? This year’s Senior Gala is a night that you certainly won’t want to ever forget.
-
For the Photos

Look at how happy Slopers are with their step and repeat backdrop – that could be you this Saturday (although with the Senior Gala’s step & repeat, of course)! What better way to capture the memories you make tonight than to do so with a photograph that will last for a lifetime?
-
It’s a Black Tie Affair

Now is your chance to embrace your inner-James Bond. That profile pic you just took? So many caption possibilities.
-
For the FREE Gift!

You get a free champagne flute, which, if you think about it, is kind of a weird name. Considering it’s free and holds champagne though, it doesn’t really matter what it’s called.
-
To Celebrate Your Accomplishments
After four years of college (give or take a bit of time), you’ve earned this. The fact that you’ve made it to the end of your senior year here at Cornell is an accomplishment in itself, but chances are you have so much more to celebrate at this year’s gala.
-
FREE Champagne!

Use that free champagne flute to take some pride in those accomplishments, celebrating with a toast! And with free champagne, you can afford to keep the toasts coming.
-
Meet Your Future Spouse???

Legend says 60% of Cornellians marry another Cornellian*. It’s not too late to get your ring by spring!
*It’s actually about 8%, but who’s counting, right?
-
No Need to Make Your Own Plans!

Having to come up with as many Cornell bucket-list plans as possible before graduation can get quite tiring when you’ve already
-
You’ll Regret it if You Don’t Go

Seriously. Think back to all the times you experienced FOMO over the past four years. Not this weekend though, this time you’re going out, and you won’t regret it one bit.
-
It’s a Once in a Lifetime Opportunity

Unless you’re the +1 for a senior this year, you’re not going to get this chance again. Your senior year of college only comes once in a lifetime, making it all the more reason to go!
-
It’s Also SOLD OUT!

The Senior Gala sold out a while ago, so if you have tickets, you’re one of the lucky ones. Relish in the fact you are one of just a select few who will be experiencing the delectable food, thought-provoking exhibits, unforgettable memories, and so much more at this year’s Senior Gala!
