Constantly meeting new people is one of the many perks of college. However, the typical first interaction always seems to include the same four questions in varying order: name, hometown, college, major. Small talk can be so boring and predictable, so we came up with some questions we would actually like to ask and answer when meeting someone for the first time. (Use at your own risk.)

- If you were a color, which would you be and why?
- If you could only put one topping on your salad, what would it be?
- What’s your spirit animal?
- Hippies or hipsters?
- Would you rather be too hot or too cold?
- What is the newest thing you’re wearing and what’s the story behind it?
- Coffee or tea?
- What type of candy best matches your personality?
- YOU JUST FOUND A GIANT SPIDER IN THE BATHTUB. What do you do next?
amberlcarter.com - Would you consider yourself to be a beer uncle, vodka aunt, or wine mom?
- What is the weirdest question anyone’s ever asked you?
- Ninjas or pirates?
- Have you ever gone barefoot in a public shower?
- What are your go-to munchies?
- What song speaks to the current state of your soul?
- Do you identify with your astrological sign?
- Are you early or late?
- Would you rather get stuck outside in the rain for an hour or have to spend a sunny day inside?
- Man buns. Do you vibe?
- Do you eat popcorn one kernel at a time or by the handful?
- Have you ever put in headphones but not turned on music just so that people won’t talk to you?
We can’t guarantee that your new acquaintance will totally vibe, but hopefully their answers will be more interesting than [insert hometown here]. Happy interrogating!
