The last six weeks of this semester are a lot like a roller coaster. It will be filled with ups and downs and, at times, no place to get off. So strap yourselves in Cornellians—here’s what you can expect from the crazy, intense ride.

Week 1

We thought Spring Break would’ve eased us back into our routine, but we were wrong. BOOM. Our work load hit us like a ton of bricks. We thought we could handle going out, hanging out with friends, work, and sleep. But it turns out, that’s a lot harder than we thought. A paper, three prelims, and four organization events later, we don’t know how we’re going make it through the next 6 weeks.

Week 2

We have high hopes as we enter this week, as it seems we have *finally* gotten our work under control enough to go to sleep before 3 A.M. But don’t speak too soon. This will be the same week that you find out out your prelim didn’t go as well as you thought and your professor “magically” forgot to put an assignment on the syllabus. Looks like more trouble heading your way.

Week 3

With prelims behind us, the roller coaster slows down a bit and we find some time to squeeze in some much needed sleep. The path ahead looks clear and we can even see the light at the end of the tunnel—just three weeks till the end of school! But then you realize that means just three weeks until finals? The scariest part of this roller coaster is coming full speed ahead.

Week 4

The pressure is slowly creeping up on us. A 2 AM bedtime is #goals because we have too much work, and when we do sleep our minds are filled with nightmares of oversleeping for the exam worth 75% of our grades, and forgetting the 27-page papers we have to write. Needless to say, the stress is really starting to hit.

Week 5

Our anxiety amounts as finals approach, but the gift that is the arrival of Slope Day is keeping the stress at bay. Can you say #blessed? While Cornell is so sweet to give us this one day of happiness, Monday morning starts exams. This week is a small teaser of the freedom we will all soon experience.

Week 6

Ah, Finals Week. Are we prepared for the most stressful week of the semester? Where we need to know an entire semester’s worth of information? Definitely not. But the plus side is that this is the last seven days before pure freedom. (That is, until you start your summer internship, of course.) Hold on tight, this week is sure to be the worst of them all.

While these last few weeks are definitely going to be stressful, it is great to know the stress won’t last forever. When we are stressed it is extremely important to take a step back, relax, and do what we need to do for ourselves. Luckily, Cornell is a beautiful place for getting outside for a relaxing walk or spending time with friends who always remind us just how fun life can be. And don’t forget that the minute after our last finals, we can roll out of Cornell like:
