2/27/11 – Despite 23 points from Freshman Miles Cartwright, Mark Coury and Anthony Gatlin power the Big Red past Penn in the final seconds. After two nail biters against the Quakers, the Big Red able to come out on top in both, earning the season sweep.
Steve Donahue, who departed Cornell for Boston College last Spring, got a chance to catch his former squad in action at the Cornell-Harvard game on January 29, 2011. Jake Mastbaum of Slope TV had a chance to chat with Coach Donahue to get some insight on the transition from East Hill to Chestnut Hill.
Despite a gutsy performance from sophomore Errick Peck, Harvard cruised to a 78-57 victory over Cornell. Spurred by dominating front court performances from Keith Wright and Kyle Casey, Harvard moved to 4-0 in league play while the Red dropped to 0-4.
Although Cornell started off strong and took a three point lead into the half, old habits caught up with the Red as they were again, unable to close a tight one out. Brian Barbour led the comeback for Columbia as the Lions picked up the 70-66 victory in Newman Arena.
