As the year comes to an end, you may wonder how to maximize the few remaining weekends at Cornell. Presented by NETwork Against Malaria on May 6th, Bid Night for Bed Nets is an annual auction-style philanthropic event hosted at Alpha Delta Phi. This unique partnership is devoted to spreading awareness about the detrimental effects of malaria in addition to raising funds for the organization based in Uganda. This Friday, you can dress up and let loose and all for a great cause. Need more motivation? Here are four reasons why you must go:
1. Dance and socialize the night away

It’s the perfect opportunity to flirt with familiar and new faces. Not to mention, you can dance to the newest beats with friends. So take a night away from Olin for once and get decked out for a night of entertainment.
2. Enjoy free refreshments

If you need a break from hours of dancing, head over to the bar for refreshing drinks. Besides, what college student doesn’t like free anything?
3. Support a great cause

According to the organization’s website, one child dies from malaria every 30 seconds. NETwork Against Malaria’s mission is to protect the lives’ of rural Ugandans by providing them with bed nets. In turn, these bed nets foster good health, promote education, and ultimately combat poverty.
4. Bid on Cornell’s most eligible bachelors
