Entertainment For Your Eyes Only

So, you’re sitting in Mann Library, struggling with random numbers, symbols, and words that you just aren’t grasping. You know you have to work, but you can’t stop thinking about the latest episode of House. We all do it. We sit there for hours, streaming episodes and episodes of missed television, or old-school movies that take our minds off of reality. As much as we may deny it, entertainment intrigues us. We are programmed to search for a glamorous escape from our typical lives.

I know this all too well, as I’ve spent oh so many hours watching seasons of television shows, reading People Magazine, and taking trips to the movie theatre. We know that celebrities are only human, but for some reason, we idolize them and talk about their lives as if they’re our BFFs.

But, you know what…that is ok. We do it, we love it, and I’m here to help with the obsession.  So let’s get right into it:

Sad News:

Goodbye Rob Lowe! It was nice to look at your beautiful face once a week on Brothers and Sisters, so I know I’ll be sad to see you leave. Last week, Lowe announced that he’d be leaving ABC’s hit drama at the end of this season.  We’ve seen Lowe quit before-West Wing anyone? So, perhaps Lowe just isn’t an ensemble cast kind of guy.

According to Lowe, he’s tired of playing the romantic lead. Well, we aren’t tired of seeing you as one! So, will Senator McCallister and Kitty divorce? Will he leave town on a shady political escapade? We shall see.

Rob Lowe leaving!

New Twist on Lost:

In the past few episodes we’ve seen that there are two alternate realities being toyed with this season. I originally supposed it was life on the island and life off the island. Simple as that.

However, in the last episode we see that the characters’ lives are very different than we would have guessed. Jack has a son and Hurley is the luckiest guy alive. These would have been their lives, had Jacob not entered them. Had he not selected them as candidates and had they never been drawn to the island, this alternate reality would have been real. What’s really cool is how we see the characters’ lives intertwining even in a reality void of the island.  Destiny.

Peace out.
