With the holiday season once again upon us, it is more critical than ever that we not only remember America’s heroes – those men and women in uniform who sacrifice, and their families – but that we honor them and thank them in some small way for all they do. These heroes would never ask for anything, but all too often find themselves in need, especially during the holidays. Watersign Creative and the band, Professionals, with the recording of ‘Another Snowy White Christmas’ have endeavored to do just that. This upbeat holiday song will be used to raise money and awareness for our wounded and injured veterans and their families and the families of the fallen by donating a portion of all proceeds to us here at Freedom Is Not Free for further allocation to those in need. Your purchase of this uplifting song will allow a child to enjoy his or her Christmas and will help to honor those who’ve given so much yet ask so little. This Christmas, you have the power to make a difference. They Gave All…Let’s Give Back!Another Snowy White Christmas

—A portion of all proceeds for “Another Snowy White Christmas” will go to Freedom Is Not Free, which benefits wounded and mortally wounded American servicepeople and their families. The song’s publisher, GDL Worldwide Music, will donate 50 percent of all publishing revenue until April 15 2010.—

For better or for worse (probably for worse), Mariah Carey’s ‘Touch My Body’ was all over the radio waves this past year. With lyrics like “if you run your mouth and brag about this secret rendezvous/ I will hunt you down,” the song was scary to say the least. Just imagine Mariah Carey hunting you down. How could this image get even scarier? By replacing Mariah with Aretha Franklin. Enjoy.

Greetings From T.Dot - (Toronto, Canada)

What’s up all you Slope Media people?!?

DJ Books is here and blogging. I never thought I’d be a blogger - but I’m actually excited.

Slope Media is going to make some serious moves this semester - and I’m very excited to be a part of it. I’ll keep you posted on moves I’m making..

Check out my profile and read my annoying long profile description - its a good representation of how Slope started and what I’m about - I also posted a highlight reel from my show back when it aired on PuLSE FM in 2005/06 while I studied abroad my junior year at LSE - its posted on The Gong Show blog here on slopemedia.org

What does everyone think of Slope Day performers?

What’s your favorite Slope Radio show this year?

Also - Where’s the “cool” bar to go to for all you seniors this year?

Word of advice: If you haven’t found it, or know about it, the best bar in collegetown is Pixel - its not the Greek scene. Its the scenester and hipster scene, which is lame in itself, but way cooler than hanging with sweet laxers and the hockey team and sloppy sorority girls - although there’s nothing better than Tuesday nights - 80’s night at JO’s and Club Sidewalk in -20 degree weather.

If you’re a senior - take advantage of everything that is Cornell - hang out with the people that matter to you most, and have a sick, sweet, legit time. And if you’re looking for a “theme song” for Senior Spring (like Green Day - Good Riddance “Time of Your Life” - back in high-school) download this song - LCD Soundsystem - All My Friends, and Franz Ferdinand does a sick cover of it too.

You’ll hear from me soon enough.

DJ Books.
