A Pause for Boston

Andrew Bayer Press Shot - Colour2

Yesterday, Andrew Bayer, graduate of the Berklee School of Music in Boston, posted this remix of his 2011 track “Dedicated to Boston’s Waste Management System”. This is one of the new tracks coming off of his next album, “If It Were You, We’d Never Leave”, set to be released next Monday. There has been a lot of anticipation and excitement for the release in the trance community, with his new tracks earning preview plays on BBC Radio, Above and Beyond’s Group Therapy Radio, and Myon and Shane 54′s International Departures podcast, among others. The release promises innovative, genre-bending, down-tempo tracks. Check back for a full album review next week.

Bayer has not commented on twitter or in any interviews yet as to whether or not this release, which came two days later than the videos for all of the other preview tracks on the album, was intended as a tribute to the tragedies in Boston. But either way, the subtle melodies and atmospheric sounds can give us all a moment to pause and reflect with Boston.
