Slope Media was created and built on the foundation of Slope Radio. In true Cornell fashion, the first incarnation of Slope Radio began with a single radio stream inside of a frat room on West Campus when Yaw Etse ’08, brought his ‘Pregame Radio’ together with Alex Zahn ’07 and Jeff Bookman ’07 in the Spring of 2006, Slope Radio was birthed.
In the following years to come, Slope Radio expanded, first residing in 108 Appel Commons on North Campus and launching Slope TV the following semester. With the addition of Slope TV, and the need for more space, Slope Radio moved into 107 Willard Straight Hall in the heart of the Central Campus. With the rumblings of launching a Magazine to compliment the Radio and TV operations, then President Yaw Etse brought all the branches of Slope under one roof; Slope Media.
