Slope Day is practically every Cornellian’s favorite time of the year, and if you disagree then you’re just lying to yourself. But if you’re a freshman like me, you have yet to experience this beloved Cornell tradition. In your anticipation, you likely cannot help imagine what the day is like. Here are some Slope Day expectations of someone who has never been:
1. The TCAT
Our go-to mode of transportation becomes a party bus. It looks like a scene straight out of High School Musical. Students board with various instruments and break out in song to accompany our clocktower.

2. Danger
At least one student faints because they fan-girled too hard. Becoming starstruck is an issue all students need to consider more seriously. One share of this article = one prayer.

3. Crowd surfing
It becomes a varsity sport taken over by our swim team during their off-season. One of the few competitive sports spectators actually attend.

4. Accessories
Horticulture Club sells basic flower headbands made from the garden in lieu of a final exam. Sorority girls literally can’t even get over how cute they are. Girls get colors to match their fanny packs.

5. Rallying
The extra fifteen pounds and subsequent lack of stamina will make making it to the slope a struggle for many freshmen. At least they’ll be weeding out the weak links.

6. Dance battles
Various organizations show off their dance skills. Despite the ambitious flash mobs, BreakFree dominates.

7. Unpleasant encore
Slope Day ends in an unsuspected blizzard because Ithaca hates us all.

Despite my high and maybe unreasonable expectations, we know for sure it will be a fun day for everyone in the Cornell community. See you on the slope!
