Worried about what to take next semester? Looking for a new, interesting class that will teach you something you actually want to know? Here’s a list of five cool new classes you can take next fall.

1) PSYCH 2800: Social Psychology

Why do you get along with your best friend? How can you persuade someone to do what you want them to do? PSYCH 2800 will answer these and other questions that people have always wondered but never asked out loud.

 

2) PE 1675: Stand Up Paddleboarding

Looking for a PE that is sure to be fun and easy? Stand up paddleboarding is relatively new to Cornell’s repertoire of classes, but only lasts a month. Plus, you can spend time on Cayuga Lake while it’s still nice outside.

 

3) HORT 1104: Introduction to Wines and Vines

Want to get course credit for drinking wine all day? Take Intro to Wines and Vines. What’s more, you can even structure your own assignments.

 

4) MUSIC 1341: Gamelan in Indonesian History and Cultures

Ever wanted to learn a new instrument? Well, now you can get three credits by immersing yourself in Indonesian music culture. Just be ready to play in front of a crowd by the end of the semester!

 

5) HIST 1700: History of Exploration: Land, Sea, and Space

If you’ve ever had the tiniest bit of interest in any kind of exploration, then this is the class for you. From Christopher Columbus to the development of the Mars Rover, HIST 1700 covers everything and anything related to the motivations, obstacles, and outcomes of exploration.

Be sure to check out all of these classes – if they’re full by the time you do, don’t worry. You can always ask upperclassmen or double check RateMyProfessor to make sure you’re taking the best classes possible.
