Drinking more water is vital to your health. It may seem obvious, but many people do not give water enough value in their lives. Humans are in fact largely composed of water, so it is no wonder that much of our lives can be improved purely by consuming it. It creates a healthier body from the inside out, which ultimately means a happier you.

How much water should I drink? 

Growing up, I was always told to drink eight ounces of water a day. That number always seemed ambiguous to me because I imagine everyone needs a different amount of water to maintain a healthy body. My rule of thumb is to drink as much water as I need depending on my activity level and health.

How do I remember to drink water? 

Drinking the correct amount of water takes practice, but with a conscious effort, it can rejuvenate your attitude and make you feel a million times better. My tip to drinking more water is simple but effective: bring a water bottle with you at all times, and keep it full. Having a water bottle full and in front of you encourages continuous drinking throughout the day.

Is water the ultimate weight-loss secret? Water is not a quick solution to a slimmer body. However, according to the site “Mind Body Green” it does promote weight loss . No, but water can energize your muscles. According to WebMD.com, muscle cells require liquids to function properly, and a fluid imbalance can cause muscle fatigue and low performing cells. It is important for an active person to drink more water in order to maintain a healthy balance of fluids in the body and ensure all cells are working to the best of their ability.

Can I drink more water to detox my body?

Water is not a detox that will jumpstart your spring break diet. However, water can flush toxins out of the human body. The kidneys do an excellent job of naturally expelling the contaminants in the human body, but WebMD.com claims that the kidneys rely on a healthy level of fluids to function properly.

 Can water improve my complexion?

Yes! Drinking more water will improve the appearance and feel of your skin. An increase in fluids can help moisturize your skin, keeping it soft and feeling fresh. Water is nature’s finest beauty product that will leave you with a glowing complexion.

Drinking more water can result in a healthier body that has more energy to do the things you want to do. Whether you want to get a better workout in the gym, work more effectively in the library, or fend off the illnesses on campus, water is nature’s easy and free solution.
