With summer break fast approaching, many of us have to start thinking about storage. We’re desperately trying to find a way to store our belongings–at a reasonable price. What?
Ezra Box is a peer-to-peer platform where students can either rent out their space or find an empty space for storage. It is a platform that connects the renter and the host. Hosts can be tenants or owners of standalone houses. More importantly, Ezra Box allows total transparency between the renter and the host. Hosts and renters post listings online and these listings allow both groups to change the price, pick-up arrangement, and duration of any storage rental. Renters have the option to post photos of their storage boxes and hosts can post pictures of their spaces. When a host matches with someone who needs storage or vice versa, Ezra Box allows them to message each other and execute the transaction. To mark an agreement, both parties have to agree to the deal on Ezra Box.
Unlike Big Red Shipping & Storage and Storage Squad, Ezra Box gives renters the freedom to quote their prices; hosts can match those prices or give quotes of their own. Variable pricing drives all costs down, allowing Cornellians to store at affordable prices and hosts to earn some extra money.
Who?
Ezra Box was founded by the Advocacy Team of Cornell’s International Students Union, when the team decided to create a solution for one of the biggest problems faced by international students: summer storage. The team realized that the current storage options at Cornell are expensive, especially given the average college student’s budget. For any student who lives far from Cornell, Ezra Box makes the process of finding storage as easy and as affordable as possible. With Ezra Box, the days of scavenging for cheap storage spaces are long gone.
