Nothing says fall like crisp air, beautiful leaves, and great food. It’s only fitting that on Halloween, one of the biggest days of the fall season, we appreciate all three of these things (plus dressing up and consuming inordinate amounts of sugar) all in one. I mean, what really is better than being outside on a beautiful fall day wearing a costume and eating a bag of candy corn?
Yet it’s not just the free chocolate that excites the average bear in the days leading up to October 31. With Halloween comes new flavors, limited edition groceries, as well as plenty of ideas for your “yummy” Pinterest board.
Apple Cider

Although this is more of a fall staple, you know you’d be crazy to turn down a hot glass of apple cider on Halloween. Especially if it’s freezing and you’re dressed as a ‘sexy _____.’

Pillsbury Sugar Cookies

Literally your favorite part of grocery shopping as a kid. No matter what the holiday, Pillsbury knew how to brighten it with their cookies.
Dirt Pudding

The concept of worm-filled dirt is surprisingly appealing. Probably the only valid excuse you will ever have to eat gummy bears, pudding, and Oreos in the same sitting.
Pumpkin Ice Cream

If you haven’t tried this, you’re wrong.
Whatever These Are

You made them in middle school for your friends, and they’re as delicious as they are unhealthy. Somehow present in every Google search for Halloween food, yet you’re not sure exactly what to call them. (Upon further investigation, I learned that “Candy Corn Pretzel Hugs” is the technical term.)
Halloween Puppy Chow

Make puppy chow. Add candy corn. Now it’s Halloween puppy chow.
Caramel Apples

Ahh a classic fall treat. There’s nothing like a day at the pumpkin patch: making the perfect selection, taking cute Instagrams, and enjoying a fresh caramel apple on your way home.
Orange Oreos

Self-explanatory.
In my opinion, Halloween is one of the most magical times of the year. We embrace the bizarre and the unique, and our food is no exception. If at this point you haven’t been inspired to incorporate some seasonal pizzazz into your diet, I’ll be assuming that you’re dressing up as the Grinch this year.
