What Your Halloween Costume Says About You

Author: Alison Spandorfer

The leaves are turning orange, pumpkin flavors are rampant, and Bean boots have started making their comeback. We all know what’s coming: Halloween. The 3-day holiday generally tends to cause more anxiety than anything else. What should you wear? Should you look scary? Sweet? Hot? Can you re-wear last year’s cat ears? Can you just buy a pair of mouse ears and call it a day? If you wear the black lacy top from Victoria’s Secret will you look like I’m trying too hard? (Answer: yes) Do you even have three nights of clever ideas in you?

Halloween used to be a night of trick or treating in mummified toilet paper.

Now, it’s become an opportunity for girls to get a little chilly.

Will you find the perfect balance between intelligent, silly, and cute this year? We’ll be watching. In the meantime, here are a couple of people we expect to see this weekend:

You can identify her by her leggings, riding boots, and the pumpkin spice lattes she’s double fisting. If you choose to dress up as the basic, be prepared for a night of selfies and dancing to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies.” Everyone knows to come to you when they need to just *bust a move.*

The Animal

You’re the one who just wants to put on your normal all black outfit, and just throw on some ears. You know how to dress up and look cute with no fuss. You gets things done.

The Freshman

Red lanyard? Check ✔ Cargo shorts? Check ✔ Face of confusion and discomfort? ✔ If you’re dressing up as The Freshman, you clearly are a freshman who decided not to really dress up. But don’t worry about it, by wearing this “costume,” you’re just showing off your humorous side, everyone will want to be your friend!

The Drake (From Hotline Bling)

If you chose to dress up as Drake (From Hotline Bling), you’ll be spotted on the dance floor, making girls swoon over your talent and turtleneck sweater. You’re the life of the party, so everyone knows to call you (no pun intended) to find out the place to be. For this weekend only, you’ll promote the “wearing less and goin’ out more” lifestyle.

The Netflix & Chill

You are certainly the show stopper with your bright red outfit, Netflix name tag, and bag of ice. You’re the funny and clever one who, after this weekend, will be able to invite anyone you want to come home and “chill” with you.

No matter what you wear this Halloween, we’re sure you’ll look great. Happy Halloweekend!
