It is said that chance works wonders. However, this saying feels like a cruel twist of fate for the loved ones of this young man. He was enjoying time with family and friends when he fell from his stool. Tragically, he passed away just days before his wedding!
The young man’s evening turns into a drama!
This story takes place in Benidorm, Spain, featuring Oliver Holroyd, a 29-year-old man. A devoted father, he worked tirelessly to ensure his small family had everything they needed. Over the years, he and his fiancée managed to save enough money to prepare for their wedding.
Like every couple, they wanted their celebration to be perfect. They put in significant effort and their planning seemed to go without a hitch. However, everything changed during Oliver’s bachelor party. The young man had a few drinks at a local bar with his father and some friends.
At events like these, all sorts of dramas can unfold. Disputes often arise among guests due to pressure or misguided jokes. Since alcohol heightens emotions for drinkers, situations frequently escalate. Accidents may even occur during these moments!
However, the young man in our story experienced none of this. He and his loved ones were having a wonderful evening filled with joy and camaraderie. Suddenly, Oliver fell from his chair, landing headfirst! He lost consciousness and ended up in the hospital!

Clearly, no one was thinking about the wedding that was set to happen in just a few days. Everyone tried to revive the young man, believing his condition wasn’t serious. However, even the paramedics could not wake him!
A few hours after the incident, police informed the family that he had passed away. Contrary to what one might expect, alcohol was not a factor, as it turned out to be a “medical issue”. Nevertheless, investigators were unable to determine the true cause of death!
Naturally, Oliver’s family sought an expert opinion to clarify the situation. The expert confirmed that the young man had died from a stroke. He leaves behind a devastated wife, a son, grieving parents, and brothers. On social media, everyone shared heartfelt messages in his memory.
His mother wrote: “Our beautiful boy, life is unbearable without you… I can’t wait until we are all together again”. His fiancée also posted a touching message stating: “My Oliver, I can’t believe this is real… I miss you so much. My best friend, the father of our beautiful little boy, my soulmate”.
A tough battle after the young man’s death!
Several weeks after Oliver’s passing, his entire family wanted to make donations to promote stroke research. Ben Harper, a close friend of the young man, aims to participate in the Leeds Marathon. This event is a fundraiser to support organizations that fight against this disease!
Paige Whiteley, the young man’s fiancée, has created a JustGiving page to facilitate her friend’s participation in the competition. He stated: “On March 22, our dear friend Oliver passed away following a stroke at the age of 29. He leaves behind his lovely fiancée and their one-year-old child. I am running to raise funds and raise awareness about strokes”.
