Controversial opinion: Christmas season begins the second the clock strikes midnight on November 1st. I’m not going to lie, it began even earlier than that for me. Your Christmas music sets the entire mood for these holiday months— without the perfect playlist, your spirits will never reach their full potential.

So, I’ve curated the ultimate Christmas playlist for y’all. We’ve got a little bit of everything— the classics, some Justin Bieber (another controversial opinion: his Christmas album was his best work), Ariana Grande, Tyler the Creator, a little surprise with Trap Christmas, and more.

Below are just a few of the songs I selected, and my gift to you is the full playlist at the end.

“It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” - Michael Bublé

We’re starting with a classic. Michael Bublé’s soothing voice initiates any and all Christmas vibes. Hearing this song for the first time in a year, a smile quickly developed on my face as I began to realize that the Christmas season has truly begun. This song probably takes you back to when you were young and listening to Christmas classics with your family. The nostalgia this song brings evokes the perfect emotions to begin this year’s holiday season.

Mariah Carey follows Bublé, with the unforgettable “All I Want for Christmas is You.”

“The Christmas Song (Chesnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)” - Justin Bieber ft. Usher

This song signals the perfect fusion between classics and pop. Personally, I believe Bieber’s Christmas album is timeless. I have three personal favorites on the album which are all included in the full playlist, but Bieber shows off his incredible runs in “The Christmas Song.” I’ve spent the last month trying to perfect the runs in this song. Unfortunately, matching Justin Bieber’s skill is, to put it simply, physically impossible.

“Last Christmas” - Ariana Grande

Not much to say, other than Ariana seems to be the new Mariah Carey of Christmas music. And am I mad about it? Not at all.

“O Come, All Ye Faithful” - Pentatonix

I’m not an insane Pentatonix fan, but this song makes me want to be. The harmonies in this song quite honestly make my heart burst. Brb, joining an acapella group!

Next comes Tyler, The Creator. Honestly, his Christmas album is good, but not a must-listen for me. I just included him because he’s a necessary artist to many.

“Rudolph” - Trap City

We’ve finally reached my favorite! Trap City has questionable singers on their tracks, but the remixing and trap beats are so good that I can look past it. Trap City is my favorite winter drive music— I blast their remixes with friends, jamming and intensely bobbing my head around. The flute wavers in this song are phenomenal, please have a listen.

After Trap City’s remixes comes one last Sam Smith song, closing off the playlist on a sweet note.

The Ultimate Christmas Mixtape was carefully curated in an order to start off sweet and build up to some intense jams. I hope you give it a listen so your holiday spirits reach their maximum potential.
