Why You Should Be Watching This Season of The Voice

I don’t know about you, but ever since American Idol, I’ve been hooked on singing competition shows. Honestly, there have been too many to keep track of. While I haven’t watched them all, I can confidently say I’ve watched enough to know what’s actually worth your time.
I’ve always been a fan of The Voice. I really liked the concept of having “blind auditions,” since it is all about the person’s singing voice and the judges can’t see what the contestants look like. The concept of the show has intrigued me ever since it started back in 2011.
But, this season – at least in my opinion – is one of the best yet. If you have ever been on the fence about wanting to watch The Voice, take my advice and tune in now. Yes, the show has been good in the past, and the cycle of celeb judges always keeps it interesting – with stars like Nick Jonas, Miley Cyrus, and Christina Aguleria all taking a seat in the past. However, this season is truly unlike any other.
For starters: Ariana Grande. In my opinion, having Grande as a judge this season is truly one of the best moves The Voice could have made. It’s no secret that Ariana is one of the biggest superstars of our generation, and I believe that having her on the show makes it even more appealing to a Gen Z audience. Other famous singers have certainly attracted large viewership, but Grande’s 271 million Instagram followers, six number one hit songs, fun, bubbly personality, and amazing outfits make this season so fun to watch.
If Ari wasn’t enough to sell you on the show, this season’s talent is also extremely unique. A lot of contestants this year have interesting backstories. For example, there is a Navy veteran, a bunch of sibling bands, a father and son duo, a single mother, and so many other people with diverse stories. It’s very inspirational to see these voices represented on television.
And finally, as is pretty consistent with prior seasons, there are genuinely talented individuals taking the stage. The performances are very enjoyable to watch, and it will be cool to see who comes out victorious since the competition is so steep. If you are a fan of listening to exceptional, new, up-and-coming singers, this season of The Voice is definitely the show for you.
