While eating a sandwich on the bus, a high school student was attacked by two young girls of the Muslim faith. They then turned on the driver before fleeing. All the details of this incident are below.
A high school student attacked for a sandwich during Ramadan
A shocking story unfolded a few days ago in the small town of Cremona, Italy. During Ramadan, an Italian high school student was assaulted on a bus by two 17-year-old girls while simply eating a sandwich. According to them, this act was inappropriate and disrespectful to Muslims. “B*tch, you shouldn’t be eating; it’s Ramadan,” they reportedly shouted before violently slapping her.
The bus driver, a 52-year-old man, attempted to intervene to calm the situation and protect the high school student. However, the two girls, clearly agitated, turned their aggression on him, “pushing him down and scratching his face,” before fleeing, as reported by JDD. He was taken to the hospital, received a sick leave for several days, and has filed a complaint.
“I am ashamed…”
The attack on the young girl has sparked a wave of outrage in Italy. Several figures have expressed their concern about what they describe as a rise in violence and community tensions.
In response, Aftab Ahmed, president of the Immigrati Cittadini association in Cremona, condemned the attack and apologized on behalf of the community. “As a foreigner and Muslim, I am ashamed of what happened, and I apologize to the young girl as well as to Italy,” he stated.
